SHERIFF MICHAEL MCINTOSH

Michael McIntosh

Sheriff Michael McIntosh has lived in Adams County for nearly four decades and have served in the Adams County Sheriff’s Office for almost 30 years. Since he took office in 2015, he has focused on community outreach, second amendment rights and public safety. Fostering unity within the Agency and building relationships with members of the public are hallmarks of his service.

​Michael is a United States Navy Veteran having served on the USS Constellation. Additionally, he is a graduate of the FBI National Academy, Northwestern University School of Police Staff and Command, and the Leadership Program of the Rockies.He serves as State Director for the Law Enforcement Torch Run for Special Olympics, former President of the Community Reach Center and Chairman of the Board for the Adams County Sheriff’s Foundation.

​He and his wife, Cathy, have been married for nearly 30 years. Their grown children and their spouses also reside in Adams County and bring great joy to their lives.Michael also enjoys playing golf and attending occasional Colorado Rockies and Denver Bronco games.

UNDERSHERIFF HAROLD LAWSON

Harold Lawson

Harold Lawson began his career with the Adams County Sheriff’s Office in August 1986 as a Patrol Deputy after receiving an A.A. in Administration of Justice. During his career he's had the privilege of holding a leadership role in the Jail Division, Patrol Division and the Detective Division. He has taken advantage of the many opportunities the Sheriff’s Office provides and participated in S.W.A.T., Selective Enforcement Team, Special Investigation Section, Mobile Field Force Team and the Detective Division. He has found this career to be challenging, educational, and very satisfying. To this day, he feels extremely proud every time he puts on the uniform and badge, and has the honor of serving the community and the colleagues that he works with.

​The Undersheriff manages operations for all divisions of the Sheriff's Office. He also manages Internal Affairs, the Public Information Officer and the Community Connections Team.
